Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on the 25th of April 1969, in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfridirene (Andreassen), is a Norwegian-born former nurse and midwife, of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish), and Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss engineer. They got married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger was Renee's older brother. He is a marketing executive and was born on the 15th of February 1967. Renee was a part of the drama club at high school and began to be interested in acting. She also attended an acting class at University of Texas (Austin) and began to look for a profession in acting. She was determined to act after she graduated, but Hollywood isn't easy to break into. Renee decided not to leave Texas and auditioned in Houston for roles. Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her close friend when she was on set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee observed him working on a project and decided to audition. She was offered the role in Love as well as an offer of a 45 (1994). This received her enough praise, that she decided to move to Los Angeles. Another part in The Whole Wide World (1996) followed which led to her breakthrough. Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) which starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when the performance of Zellweger on The Whole Wide World (1996). He attended an audition with Zellweger and was confident that he'd found his Dorothy Boyd. Renee followed her huge success by releasing a couple of independent films and after receiving further critical praise and confidence, she decided to reenter the realm of large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep starred alongside her in One True Thing (1998). She also appeared in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) with Jim Carrey and shortly after she began to date Jim Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) - in the title role.
