Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer and songwriter born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. When she was just one, her family made the decision to relocate to England. She was born in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School, Earls Court. After that she was able to graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at an early age. In 2004, she appeared on the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision The Country That requires You (BBC One) She was selected to represent the UK in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She later pulled out of the competition after a few episodes, feeling that the stage wasn't set. Ora has released her first album in 2007 when she was featured in the Craig David song "Awkward" and then she made an appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began to sing in bars around London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z The A&R team inform Roc Nation about Ora. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z took note of Ora and quickly signed her to Roc Nation. She was featured in a commercial featuring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the owner of a pub and she started singing in the same pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her manner of speaking. She also refers to her father Besnik who was a bar owner. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran as well as their friends.
